The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Oh man, I want that first t-shirt.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Those are good shirts.

How about some TV talk in Natter?

Anybody watching the new AMC series Mad Men? It's set in the Madison Avenue advertising world of 1960. Everybody smokes like a fiend, everybody is complex and ill behaved, the kids flop around in the car without seat belts, the sexism is brutal (but the show itself isn't sexist).

It's really compelling if you like shady and interesting protagonists. Also it looks really cool. Great dresses and suits.

I have two of them saved on tivo, but I haven't had a chance to watch them yet.

I think I missed the pilot though-- do I need to know anything about it to watch the others?

Only two episodes have aired so far, Lee.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

I like those locher tops. Mad Men has only aired two eps.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Hec, I started watching Mad Men. Mentioned it here--Vincent Kartheiser looks so clean cut! I don't know if I'll be able to take the rampant sexism for long. The smoking cracks me up, though.

Those t-shirts are gorgeous. Too spendy for me, but definitely gorgeous.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Anybody watching the new AMC series Mad Men?

Nope, but thanks for the reminder -- I remember thinking the previews looked verra cool.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

As Tom notes, they're only two eps into the season.

It's very intriguing so far. Even the characters which would normally be window dressing (the pretty blonde wife, the mousey new secretary) clearly have more going on with them. The male lead is charismatic, unfaithful, loving father, loving husband (even while cheating), slightly embittered war vet.

On Conseula's enthusiastic review, I also nabbed Saving Grace. It's got a lot going for it, starting with Holly Hunter. She's awesome! She's like Bad Lieutenant South.

I didn't recognize at first! He's playing a very interesting weasel. I think their take on the sexism is interesting. It's rampant in the culture but they don't endorse it at all. In fact, I think they slyly undermine it in a lot of ways. There are certainly a lot of strong female characters in what is very definitely a man's world.
