Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

The sad thing to me was that he couldn't imagine Sam being respectful of or happy for him without the commonality of monster hunting.
That just killed me. I can't imagine them not being *brothers*, you know? It's unreal that they would not be close and mean everything to each other...

I really, really hope S3 delves into this. Dean has a looming expiration date and is very much wanted by the law, and Sam has more or less said that things between them are going to have to change with regard to who is looking after whom. That should mean some tricky and uncomfortable moments as Dean learns to accept Sam's new role.
Yes. God, so looking forward to this. Although, as I told Plei, I almost don't want to think about it because I am just overwhelmed by the idea of what the next year brings to Winchesters. It's just got to change so much and, yet, I don't know how much can really change.

"What would it take to get your daughter to stop tweeting about this?"

I don't see his vision of himself as all that positive, in the construct world, I guess.

I don't either. I saw it as spelling out to the audience exactly how low the self esteem of Dean Winchester can go. The boy is so very very broken.

only able to be with someone like Cameron because she had low standards

I agree and this part of it still doesn't make sense to me. Carmen was the perfect girlfriend. Smart, kind, funny and loving toward his family. I took the 'low standards' remark as an off hand tease between a very comfortable couple in love. She didn't say it spiteful or like she meant it. She didn't even nag him about the night before. If he was making as many poor decisions as seemed to be the case in the construct world (the stealing, the prom date, the drinking), then really how did he end up with her? Does this mean that his subconscious accepts that part of him might be loveable?

Dean has a looming expiration date
Ouch. This is painful to me and the season hasn't even started yet. I can't remember the last time I was sensing the angst while a show was on hiatus. Two months, that's all I have to wait.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

After The Gift. She saved the world.

A lot.

It's the last occasion I remember being this anxious and trepidatious at the same time.

vanguard of the socialist Hollywood liberal homosexualist agenda

The boy is so very very broken.

This, I think, bears repeating.

A lot.

Bev, damn it, STOP THAT.

Because books.

So much this.

It's the last occasion I remember being this anxious and trepidatious at the same time.

Me, too. I think because (speculatively spoilery for plot points Kripke talked about at ComicCon) I want less of the war that's apparently looming, and more of Sam trying to figure out how to save Dean, and what Dean is thinking/doing as he heads into his last year on earth. I want the angst. Gimme angst, Kripke. Please.

Because books.

I certainly hope so, sumi! I just ... want the angst a lot.
