The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

I was supposed to buy that Sam thought that an immortality spell/stealing body part was going to appeal to Dean.

My (unspoiled) spec is that this was tossed in there in a last-minute attempt to make Sam's accepting Ruby's offer seem more plausible. I've got a bet riding with a co-worker that the season will end on a cliffhanger, that Sam will accept the whole king deal in order to save Dean, and that this will set up the main conflict for next season.

My (also unspoiled) spec is that Dean's going to die and Sam's going to do something crazy just before the last title card.

Because books.

I'm with Ailleann, I think -- I can't imagine Kripke turning Sam evil. Not really.

Also, I read (spoilery only for Jensen's behavior during filming, no actual plot details included or known)

that Jensen cried during most of the shoot. Which makes me wibble uncontrollably, of course, but I'm also thinking Big Damn Trauma, Sir for the cliffhanger.

So. There's that. Is it Thursday yet? I can't decide if I want it to come, or I don't want it to come, you know?

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Yeah, I think Dean's going to die too.

It's going to be a long summer.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Yeah, I think Dean's going to die too.

I mean, it is his turn.

"What would it take to get your daughter to stop tweeting about this?"

I think Dean used up all his turns in Mystery Spot.

Yeah, I think Dean's going to die too.

It's going to be a long summer.

Wrod.

"I make mistakes, but I am on the side of Good," the Golux said, "by accident and happenchance.” – The 13 Clocks, James Thurber

You are all bad, bad people. I am already reeling from an intensly unpleasant interview process... it turns out that the hours I spent being grilled by 4 people in person paid off in the next step of getting to spend more hours filling out forms online, many of which warned me that the company has the right to perform all sorts of background checks on me, my life, my credit, my history, my education, my driving record, and I think they can lay claim to my unborn children as sacrifices to the corporate gods... anyway, I came in here to clear my head, and you're all about killing off the Boys! Stop that!

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Where'd you read that, Amy? You can e me if you don't want to spoiler font it.

I can't find it now, but someone on my flist was posting a collection of JA pics going back to his soap days. There was an interview attached to one of them in which he says he's "not her, yet," refering to Deidre Hall, who he goes on to say can cry on command every time. He sounded like he was working on it, though. Handy skill to have--and now we know about the One Perfect Tear.

I can't imagine Kripke turning Sam evil. Not really.

I can imagine him playing with the possibility, however, and having Sam make some very stupid calls regarding his destiny. Now that I think about it, it would be narratively satisfying to see Sam be the one to break the deal-making pattern set by John and Dean. Breaking that pattern wouldn't be easy for him, though. I think it would be very much in character for him to consider anything that might save Dean (not that consideration necessarily leads to action, but it would lead to mucho angst).

Although it would make for a long summer, I find that I'm hoping for a cliffhanger. It just seems there's too much going on for them to be able to bring it to a satisfying resolution in one hour (or however long it is with commercial interruptions).

This is exactly my thought. I don't think I could be satisfied with a resolution that could happen in 42 minutes. And we all know that Kripke likes cliffhangers. (Helloooo semi truck!)

you're all about killing off the Boys!

Believe me when I say that I don't want Dean to die. I'm just saying that unless they pull a) a complete hail mary that actually works, or b) get a hearty helping of deus ex machina from the writers, I don't see how he's going to get out of it.
