Supernatural 1: Saving People, Hunting Things - the Family Business
[NAFDA]. This is where we talk about the CW series Supernatural! Anything that's aired in the US (including promos) is fair game. No spoilers though -- if you post one by accident, an admin will delete it.
Yeah, that was definitely a dropped plot point last night -- that Sam drops dead if Dean tries to wiggle out of the deal. You'd think that'd be at the front of Dean's mind: in fact he's not only blaming Sam for failing to save him, but claiming he has to save himself!
Bad writing, folks.
As for Stewie's death. Oh, man, I got nothing. The only character of color in the episode, and he's first kind of pathetic -- junk food and porn on the job -- and then he dies horribly. Last week they killed the gay guy; this week they kill the Indian guy. WTF, folks? Just, wtf?
I'm pretty much convinced the cliffhanger at the end of 318 (is that the number?) will be Dean dying/getting dragged into hell. I am, however, unspoiled. Just so you know.
I think the last episode will be 3.16.
The trouble is, though, that if they case the guy who played Stewie as the bad guy, then it's a whole other problem.
They need to start thinking about plays, like, the grieving dad.
Yeah, they had other options for that actor. Hell, Lanie's entire family could have been South Asian.
Argh.
There was an interview during the strike, I forget if it was with Kripke or with Sera Gamble, but they had said that there was a possibility that they would actually resolve Dean's storyline in the beginning of S4.
I'm remembering it differently... I thought I read that they planned to wrap up Dean's storyline by the end of season three. On the other hand, my brain has slowly been turning to mush, so I may be wrong.
(and Mary, though Dean doesn't know that yet)
As for what Sam knows about Mary that he never bothered to share with Dean: in addition to not telling about Mary recognizing the YED, he also hasn't told Dean that everyone she knew was killed, has he?
well, that was scary - DH called just after we saw mom in the computer screen.I jumped a mile and a half

Does this mean that Dean is Persephone?
I think I read that fic...
(Actually, I know I did. Victoria P, as I recall.)
Here it is:
Back from the Great Beyond (The Velvet Underground Overdub)
Read Eurydice, linked there too, which is the original story. There's a big old sniffly graphic at the end of it.
stoopid HTML
They totally didn't say that it was "Lilith" when they said that there was a new power rising in the West. But yes, the Malleus Mallificarum demon told Sam about the new power and for whatever reason he didn't mention it to Dean, nor did he mention all the stuff about Mary that Ruby brought up. (Probably because it was information from Ruby.)
There are two director's cuts up at TV Guide's
Supernatural
page. Very interesting. (Spoilery as heck.)

I'm unspoiled for the next two eps, but I can't see any other way than for Kripke to end the season with Dean dying. What is going to be his other cliffhanger? Now episode 4.1 may be Sam going to the crossroads and selling his soul, but getting Dean out of the deal is going to be resolved in season four. I'll gladly eat my words if Kripke makes me wrong.
My expectations are lower and I am enjoying the heck out of the episodes. However, now that we are at the end of season three, I can say it hasn't been my favorite season. There were some great stand alone episodes but, strike or not, something was missing. John, Mary, Missouri, Jess, YED, Ellen... I'm okay if we don't learn anything new in the next two episodes. More questions to set up something for season four maybe, but I don't expect any answers.

Have I explained my pet theory for S4? It involves Dean dying at the end of S3, Sam going just a bit nutty, and going to Missouri for help.
