Because books.

Oh, I'd think since it's the fourth season it would be all 22 episodes.

::stubbornly optimistic::

I get the "antsy till April" thing, though. Boy, do I ever.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

One thing that makes me as happy as the renewal news is that Kripke was quoted saying that he's pushing back the big S3 climax partway into S4. That he doesn't want to just rush over the arc he had planned, and that with advance warning they can tailor S4's arc to fewer episodes.

I'm looking forward to seeing what happens, and I'd rather not be shortchanged on the story, so this pleases me more than a Reader's Digest Condensed version of the S3 arc. JP has done so well with the additional emotional weight Sam's carried this season, I want to watch as Sam goes through whatever changes may be in store.

I'm choosing to believe they'll get a full season, and Season 5 after that, so Kripke can tie the bow on the Winchesters' saga.

Also, Amy? And anyone else who was curious about the hug in Mystery Spot being unscripted, it was anteka (mastermind of Plastic Winchester Theatre) who was asked last fall to bring "her boys" and visit the set, give a presentation on her concept, and hang out for a few days. She had a chance to read the MS script and watch some of the filming. And in her review of 3.11, she was giddy about the hug, that it hadn't been in the script she read. I don't think her entry is locked, so you could track it down if you're curious.

That's awesome about the hug, Bev. Go JP's instincts.

I completely agree with your hopes for S4 (and S5m fingers crossed), too.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

That's fabulous news.

In other news, my friend Liz is now thoroughly hooked on the show, having mainlined S1 and S2 over the course of three weeks. For someone who went in completely unspoiled, she was very quick to catch on to things such as the Crossroads demon becoming important, Gordon not being a one-shot villain (I can't wait until she sees his S3 appearance), etc. She's still a bit pissed off about Ava going evil and Andy being killed off, but I think she's in good company there.

"What would it take to get your daughter to stop tweeting about this?"

There were so many shout outs to Supernatural during SCC last night, it couldn't have been coincidence. It made me all proud. Like someone was watching our little show. At least this is what I am choosing to believe.

vanguard of the socialist Hollywood liberal homosexualist agenda

There's like, a ridiculous amount of both shoutouts and parallels. It makes me do the clappyhands.

A nice, creepy little Supernatural/Constantine (movieverse, but it could also work in the comicverse, I think) crossover.

Art Crawl!!!

SCC made me want a scene of wee Dean and wee Sammie playing catch.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

Except that they'd be playing catch with a grenade or a bottle of holy water.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

I'd love to see Bela played by Morena Baccarin.

Nope. Not me. Morena's gorgeous, but as an actress, leaves me utterly cold.
