The sides, as I understand it, are the script as written, but before on-set changes
We used to all go over to Rayne's website for the Buffy scripts, back in the day. I have a bunch of them printed out in a folder someplace, and they're hilarious -- the S3 season opener contains a stage direction for the production manager to be crying in the corner over having spent the entire season's budget on one episode. (That part wasn't filmed.)
How Rayne got the scripts was vaguely hush-hush, at the time; I presume there was an under-the-table business in selling the ones that weren't auctioned off for charities. In this age of para-canon, I'm not surprised if they're officially available for free in most cases.
Wait--who did the transcripts? I thought that was Rayne. Whoever did the transcripts--off home videotape, no less, deserves a medal. Many medals. That's a LOT of words. I don't think there were many stage directions or action descriptions in the transcripts, were there? Just lines?
Wow. Really really "back in the day." Where's my cane and my ear trumpet?
Rayne's site had shooting scripts. . . I remember the transcripts too. I don't recall what site that was.
Another thing people do is go to the websites where there are calls for auditions and get the sides from there. (You have to register. . . but people do it.)
Just for random, the corner at the end of the block
between their shoulders roughly where the person in the red coat is, is where Jessica was standing at the end of Bloody Mary.
OK, people. Three thousand+ posts and all of S3 later, I am finally caught up. Just in time for tomorrow night (dear, lord, I hope it's tomorrow). Phew! Being sick sucks, but it sure gives a body a chance to catch up on some important viewing and reading.
I'd meara, but it would go on for pages and bore everyone to tears.
Since I just finished watching it a few minutes ago, I will say, though, that JP broke my heart in Mystery Spot. And, dude, the cold-blooded, obsessed Sammy we got a glimpse of there... brrrr. And, yeah, the funny with the heartbreak was really well done.
Oh, and just to avoid any confusion "JenP" (that's me) is not the same person as "Jen." She's way cooler than I am. I just know people have confused me for Jen before. I mean, I am Jen. Just not... Jen. Yeah, that ought to help clear things right up! ::waves to Jen:: (eta: I say this because I see a lot of new-to-me names in this thread - hi, new-to-me posters!)
Hi JenP! Welcome!
So Tivo told me last night that Nightshifter is running in the 8:00 slot tomorrow. Watch and post, anyone?
Yes, Nightshifter in the hour before 3.12.
If I can, Ailleann, I'd love to W&P!
We don't W&P enough, I'm thinking. I always--well usually--spot something previously unnoticed in Ws&Ps, or have it pointed out by another eagle-eyed W&P-er.
Hi, Jen! um, P. I'm sorry you've been sick, but I'm glad you've caught up. Still sick? Need an occupation? An essay in 100 words or less, or more, however moves you, on your favorite episodes from any and all seasons, whether or not those involve a through line of meta or have no apparent relevance to each other, and why they are your favorites. Your own meta welcome, of course.
Also, most improved actor, most annoying actor, prettiest actor, actor guaranteed to make you cry, favorite actor. Please provide examples.
Favorite director, and why.
Bonus questions: 1. Have you seen the Paley panel? If not, why not? Your SPN experience cannot be counted as complete without this experience. 2. What is your favorite SPN fanvid? 3. What is your favorite SPN You Tube clip? (2 and 3 may be combined).
If you indulge in SPN fanfic, can you rec your favorite stories? If you write fanfic, please provide links to any stories you're willing to share.
Extra credit: Please provide links to your favorite screencaps, stills, promo shots or pornother visual representations of SamandDean or Sam or Dean, JP, JA, JDM, or Katie Cassidy for those of us who are fans of hers and/or Ruby's.
If I've forgotten anything I'm sure someone here can remind you. And once again, welcome!
What? You didn't know there was a test? The rest of us have all taken it, right?
I would love to W&P but unfortunately I'm watching and phoning with my real-life non-buffista SPN loving friend. (Possibly not Nightshifter - since that's a repeat.)
Watch and phone--that's hardcore, sumi.
It would be one long silent conversation for me, except for commercials. I find it difficult to watch and post--I usually watch east coast time, watch again central time and maybe post, and then post a bit west coast time. First time, I'm just too busy absorbing.
