I'm so pissed off that WGN broke into the feed with a press conference from the UNI Press. I missed the regular day!!!
Meanwhile - wow. That was intense. I love that we got two episodes in a row that filled the entire hour - none of this story ending at 8:45 nonsense.
And Sammy! So much his daddy's boy. Damn.
I knew that the trickster was involved because I saw Richard Speight's name in the credits. I hope it was high HSQ for people who didn't recognize him.
I hope that they repeat this so I can see the beginning.

Oh, yeah. I almost never pay attention to the credits, so it came as a complete surprise. Beside the fact I didn't know the name of the actor who played the Trickster that other time. It was fun to see him again, for values of fun that = max pain.
I figured the trickster was going to be involved because of the previouslies. they really need to be more subtle with those.
I missed the previouslies, because I was dicking around trying to get the tape set up, so I was really surprised.
I'm also glad that I wasn't the only one who saw zombies in the preview. My IRL SPN friend says that she thinks that they were demony minions like we saw at the end of season 1.
I thought it was interesting that they showed footage of both the Trickster and the WIAWSNB genii in the promos. The promo gave away the twist of the episode, but I didn't know which supernatural entity was going to be at fault.
i'm pretty sure that's what they were, sumi, but when they first showed them i thought they were zombies and i was going to have to watch from the hall.

Exactly. I thought it would be something new. Maybe an amulet. :)
see? black eyes and demon smoke about :27 in.
This. I like him and thought he would die.
I like that there does seem to be an awareness on the part of the writers about how difficult it would be to kill a freakin' god that can manipulate reality at will. Sam, Dean, and Bobby talk about it as a trickster, like it's a case of termites in the basement that someone needs to call Orkin for, but the show seems to respect the fact that this is Coyote or Loki or some similar figure out of myth and legend.
