I'm seeing lots of little parallels to/opposites to AHBL in here.
As in Sam, you should have learned not to turn your back on a guy you only think is down.
I love that scene, of Sam untying Dean. They work so well together.
Sam, someday you're going to find out just how far Dean will go to help you.
Oh, boys.
The Texas comes through so much in their voices in this car scene.
It really does.
I love that ep.
My iTunes just started the next ep on it's own. Tempting...
But I think I'm going to go watch my Provenance dvd and see if it has Dean calling Sam Jared. Somebody linked to it yesterday, and I'm curious.
Also--those of you with S1 dvds, in Bloody Mary, when Sam's having his nightmare and wakes in the car, does your dvd have the overhead shot of him waking with his head back on the seat and Dean's hand on his collar? Mine doesn't.
I prefer to think that Ava was driven mad in her efforts to survive rather than that she just went evil.
I suppose that is the choice though - -is survival worth killing whatever is around?
But once she got some of those powers, couldn't she have escaped? Had she not been mad? Or do you think that having made that first choice she thought she had to go all the way?

I think that's how it started. Plus, I would imagine that the YED was hella good at playing the kind of mind games that would dig in and twist any pre-existing tendencies that he liked.

Either that, or something about the powers was intoxicating or compelling. (And now I'm thinking about Willow and the Actual Car Crash, which is making me not like my theory so much.)
Here is a set report from somebody who really did stalk the Js.
