Sam's hair was SO GOOD in the pilot. For real.

I think they really needed to establish not only that it was the SamandDean show, but their own backstory -- Sam slips back into hunting so easily, and Dean seems less experienced than he should. The whole "Dude, I'm 26" thing always bothers me, because honestly Dean would have been working (should have been working?) cases on his own by the time he was 21 or 22, when Sam was still around.

Paperclip! This scene always makes me wonder how many times Dean had found himself in this position before. And I LOVE the fact that he steals the cop's rig.

In my mind Dean was on assignment during those years infiltrating an organization of mutants. He was so good they let him take an assignment teaching a girl the piano. Luckily he also looked just like a guy named Ben.
