Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

I really wouldn't be charmed.
No, not so much. It was clunky writing to get this ep set up, I think.

To me it felt crass -- even for Dean. And he's? Well, I'll let him speak for himself...

Hailey: Must you cheapen the moment?
Dean: Yeah.

I just can't stop looking at how incredibly beautiful Jensen Ackles is. Unearthly.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Well, at least he's left the Uncanny Valley of pretty. With some age, he's looking human, at least.

It's a side effect of the KoolAid... The delicious, gorgeous KoolAid.

I think he actually looks hotter now. I've seen pictures of him from when he was younger and he looked too much like a little boy to be really attractive.

Now? Nnnrgh.

Because books.

So much this. Age, the laugh crinkles, a little scruff, takes the edge off the too-smooth prettiness and adds so much character.

I know it seems crass of Dean to show up, and it is, but it's so him. He just doesn't get that other people move on, because life for him is just unbroken road, with a few memorable incidents of ectoplasm, demon killing, and family dying amid the motel rooms and pieces of pie.

In his defense, too, he didn't show up and say, "Let's get it on." There was still some patented Dean charm in that "passing through" stuff.

I really think that if a child's birthday party hadn't been going on, he would have been expecting a few beers and another bendy weekend, though.

Because books.

But Dean doesn't turn "expecting" into pushing his luck, or getting obnoxiously demanding. Not my Dean anyway.

Well no. I don't see him as overbearing or anything. I also don't see him as needing to be, honestly. Just look at him -- I'm sure Dean has women throwing themselves at him all the time.

Edited to add, we've also seen that Dean possesses a wide streak of honor and protectiveness. I never meant to imply that I would suspect him of pushing himself on her.

Oh, Dean with his longing for a "normal" life and his acceptance of the fact that it will never be his. Oh, Sam, so clearly willing to do whatever it takes to save his brother. Oh, lord, I'm flailing.
