I battle evil. But I don't really win. The bad keeps coming back and getting stronger. Like that kid in the story, the boy that stuck his finger in the duck.

Because books.

I'm blown away. This season is so much more than I expected.

"I make mistakes, but I am on the side of Good," the Golux said, "by accident and happenchance.” – The 13 Clocks, James Thurber

Sam just shot an innocent. Out of spite.

When Dean shot the YED, does that mean that he shot him and killed an innocent human, more or less, out of spite too? I was just trying to figure out if all demons were walking around wearing humans as outer coverings, or if some of them just manifested as is.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

I'm probably WAY late to the party on this, but I'm thinking Dean's not as off the hook on the "kill Sam if you can't save him" thing as he thought he was.

Morgana, I think the difference with the YED was that was the only possible way out of that situation at that time. With the CD, it was just because Sam felt like offing her.

I love that JP can bring sweet, goofy Sam and reallyfuckingscary Sam in the same episode and have it all be part of the same character.

Because books.

Yeah, Dean did, too. Although at that point, it was more self-defense.

Sam had NO reason to kill that girl. For one thing, she would have walked away without a deal to make.

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

On the other hand it is possible that Sam is just following the unofficial Winchester motto: the rules don't apply when family is in trouble. Umm though on edit, he does seem to killing without much reason.

WORD. Oh, JP, you are bringing the game this season.

It was a nice counterpart in this ep having Dean NOT kill the guy who, while possessed, killed three people in a gruesome manner.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

Sam had NO reason to kill that girl.

Well, technically, he wasn't concerned about the girl. He was killing the demon and the girl had to go along for the ride. And, unless I'm mistaken, in this universe, demon is always bad. No Clem-types.

He really, really is. He has grown incredibly as an actor over the course of the show.
