You are very welcome.
I'm a bit confused (as are we all - possibly) about how the Colt works. If a demon (or a possessed human) is shot by a regular gun - the demon might just leave the body or might just continue in the body because the demon doesn't care, right? But if the possessed person is shot by the Colt . . . I guess my question is, does it have to be a shot that would kill the possessed human in order to destroy the demon?
Based on "Sin City" and "All Hell Breaks Loose, Part 2" - I guess it does, but why? Why couldn't you wound the possessed human and still destroy the demon? They don't have bodies like us, right?
Sophia, yes - they were in New York.
Sophia, yes - they were in New York.
Wow-- they were right near me and didn't stop in!
Also, Dean must drive like a maniac to get to Queens in 2 hours!!!! From Buffalo!!!

Sumi, yes, because Sam shot John in the leg with the Colt and it didn't kill the demon. Did end up driving him out, though.
The world isn't all twilight and shadows, so it just doesn't bother me, I guess.
BTVS and Angel managed to have pretty lurid palettes without hurting the darkness of their themes, so it doesn't bother me to see Supernatural going the same route. As long as they don't get into Pushing Daisies levels of color saturation. Or have Ruby break out in song.
And I love the idea that the demons aren't *sure* Lucifer exists any more than humans can be sure of God.
I love the fact that an absent, possibly apocryphal Lucifer that even demons aren't sure of opens the door for a potato/potahto situation where everyone is talking about different preceptions of the same force. Was Azazel a literal fallen angel that had personal knowledge of Heaven, Yahweh, and Lucifer, or was he just the oldest, toughest demon on the block who knew the good PR value of an inspirational story?
Also, has Dean actually exorcised any demons since he sold his soul to the devil?
Oooo, excellent question sumi! Maybe it wasn't the Roman ritual that failed, but just a case of Dean being sufficiently compromised that he can no longer use it.
It's not like Minear where we have, you know, access.
Um, bad choice of showrunner there.
Yeah, having access there means shoutout namesake victims, not being able to get a character spared!
I missed part of the episode (silly World Series!) and thus did not see the details of the gun's wre-working. Can somebody provide me a rundown? (I already tried YouTube for clips, and no go as yet.)
The episode is up on the CW site.

Good point. I got a shoutout Dean-in-lurve and look how crappy that turned out?
Re the hunter's moon - it could also provide light for supernatural things hunting the hunters.

Wonder if it binds the demon to its meatsuit, therefore ensuring the death of both?

I thought it looked like he just couldn't remember, but this is an interesting idea too... But then again, we've got people blessing holy water who aren't men of religion, so I don't know that they're big sticklers on the religious details.
