The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Man, Sam really rocked this ep for me. And JP brought the Texas again. Bless that boy.

He really did. It was very much his ep, even though Dean was in it more.

Art Crawl!!!

Over the past week, one of the things my irl SPN fan friend and I discussed was how Sam and Dean were going to have to be separated so that Sam could research how to unmake Dean's deal. And they did it very nicely this week.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

While I think it's possible that Lisa lied, I hope she didn't. Dean may be wistful about not bringing life into the world (although, dude, you got around, you might want to check a few other places just to be sure.) but it would bring more than wistfulness if he did. Knowing you're going to die, and being willing to do so is one thing, but leaving behind a kiddo (that you've already been an absentee dad to), when you have your own history, is a lot of bonus death angst.
I am with Liese. There's looking at a family, seeing what might have been and that's all well and good, but when you sold your soul and are going to hell in a year? Well, better hope that's not your kid that is going to lose his absentee father to the fiery depths of Hell.

I just rewatched and damn I like this ep a whole lot more knowing that Ben isn't Glory Dean's mini-me. I am "yay SPN" right now with my pompoms.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

CASS!

I thought of you with the kid named Ben.

Here's some gentle snark: How many single-mom yoga instructors do you know who live in a house like that in a gated community?

She could be a really good yoga instructor! Or she could rent.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Or she could rent.

Can you rent in a gated community? I guess you can.

Do you guys think that Dean was presumptuous to assume that she wasn't attached after eight years? Even after she was all "I have a kid" he didn't seem to exhibit any expectation of there being a present father.

So. Covering tracks, killing a person's entire social circle. That would take a lot of effort. You must be something else, eh, Sammy boy?

Yes, in his typical way of not having any idea how normal humans live.

This one was far more well-adjusted. But he does still have the wee potential to grow up to look exactly like Jensen Ackles.

"Mister Spock is on his fanny, sir. Reports heavy damage."

Still, the evil women are usually more interesting in this show. And have longer life spans

I woke up this morning wondering, just like Meg, whether there's a person inside Mysterious Blondie, trapped and a helpless witness to what her own hands are doing. And whether we'll actually meet her 30 seconds before she dies.

(Lifespan, as demon-possession goes, is a relative term.)

The whole demon-not-all-evil thing troubles me: it has the potential to upend the show's worldview, but we won't know that till we get more information.

Oh yes, I think Demonic Blondie is actually a possessed woman - just like Meg was. Just because she doesn't want to kill Sam immediately, doesn't mean that she isn't evil - we just don't know what her agenda is.

I wondered whether Evil Real Estate lady wasn't purposefully keeping the values of the homes down so that they would appeal to parents who are more vulnerable. (If there are more single moms in the subdivision - fewer dads to get rid of.)

vanguard of the socialist Hollywood liberal homosexualist agenda

Just because she doesn't want to kill Sam immediately, doesn't mean that she isn't evil - we just don't know what her agenda is.

Word. Having no fondness for others of her kind doesn't make her a goody-goody.

Her comment about being a "good hunter"... I'd be intrigued if the demon had possessed another hunter. Or if they're "working together", and eventually the girl will turn on the demon.
