Hey, I've been in a firefight before! Well, I was in a fire. Actually, I was fired from a fry-cook opportunity. I can handle myself.

Because books.

Snarking goes down better when I'm not so emotionally attached.

So much this. TWoP annoys me anyway. I'm tired of snarking as a cover for just being cranky and mean.

There are plenty of recappers who are funny along with being cranky and mean, though. And I can't fault the crankiness of people who had to watch Charmed as part of their job...

I really, really hope that we get some flashbacks or mentions of how Dean had a semi-parental role with Sam.

My brain just shut down completely, and has ceased to function. I can't remember -- how much older is Dean than Sam? Sam is what, 22 or 23? (Most days I know this stuff automatically, I swear. Don't make me turn in my membership card.)

Dean is four years older. If the timeline is roughly concurrent to real life, Dean is 28 and Sam is 25.

Thank you ever so!

Probably. I just ... I can only get into gentle snark when I know someone loves the show like I do. Sort of like *I* can say my husband is lazy about leaving clothes on the floor, but you can't.

Not that, you know, you would say that. Um.

So much this.

If they would just drink the kool-aid, it all would be better.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

What's interesting to me is that a four year age difference would have been a big deal when, say, Sam was five and Dean was eight or nine. For a lot of their childhood, Dean would have very much been the BIG brother, and not just the slightly older brother.

Amy - Oct 11, 2007 5:37:11 pm PDT #3336 of 10002

Exactly, Anne. Think about a twelve-year-old Sam looking up to a sixteen-year-old Dean. That's where your really going to see the whole big brother dynamic in play.

Here's some gentle snark: How many single-mom yoga instructors do you know who live in a house like that in a gated community?

I figure she inherited a bunch of money from her folks. (Hey, I can do the jazz-hands too.)

That or the absentee father pays a heck of a lot of child support.
