Supernatural 1: Saving People, Hunting Things - the Family Business
[NAFDA]. This is where we talk about the CW series Supernatural! Anything that's aired in the US (including promos) is fair game. No spoilers though -- if you post one by accident, an admin will delete it.
Isn't that the lake of-all-purposes that they used for the 4400 appearing and Smallville? Neil Grayston was saying something about it in the last podcast. And I'm suddenly realizing most of the shows I watch are filmed around Vancouver. Maybe I should look through BSG for a shot of it.

Blind guess with no visual reference to hand, but I bet it's the cabin area where Adama has his flashback .
(whitefont for those who don't watch BSG)
Austin, that's what pinged me to the "I've seen this before". I was nodding at Lake Placid, and then it hit me.
And speaking of NG and podcasts, I suddenly feel very bad for his crotch.
Ailleann, I bet you are right. That would be hilarious.

Isn't that boy soo cute? He was trying to be all polite while talking about it.

One of the road trips I'm plotting in my head is tooling around Vancouver, spotting as many locations as I can. I think it'd be fun - special bonus if I get to play Canadian Actor Bingo at the same time.

One of my favorite things to play when watching TV is, Hey! It's that farm!
A lot of the "rural" scenes in genre TV get filmed near where my Aunts Dean and Cindie live, and thus are things I've been by a zillion times over the years.
Smallville was especially good for that.
"Hi, I'm Captain America, and this is my howler monkey Jared. Say hello, Jared."
Cherry-picking from Juliebird's comments:
And just that little look in the rearview mirror at Dean told it all: Sam didn't not kill his father because he couldn't bring himself to do it, but because Dean had asked him not to. Wow. Just, wow.
And it carries through into Season 2, what the boys will do for each other, because of each other, that they wouldn't for anyone else. But Devil's Trap still takes the cake, cuz it's their dad, and Sam woulda blown him away I bet, except that Dean asked him not to.
Also, in Devil's Trap, Dean's "Daddy" kills me. From "Dad, don't let it kill me" to a little boy crying out, "Daddy" just hurts my heart. And Sam puts Dean before The Hunt.
Oh, Sam.
One of the other fragments that always stands out to me, in the midst of all the other high-tension moments in that scene, is that after Sam finally shoots into his father's body, which just seems like the fulfillment of some hideous Greek tragedy, he steps over John's bleeding body to get to Dean. Who of course is lying there broken and bleeding and dying, himself. I love the monsters of the week, and the pretty, but I really, really love the bond between those two and their struggle to rebuild it.
By the way, as I've been catching up I see that we've been sharing livejournal names. I'm morgana_st over there.
