No studying? Damn! Next thing they'll tell me is I'll have to eat jelly doughnuts or sleep with a supermodel to get things done around here. I ask you, how much can one man give?

Because books.

'Night, tiggy.

I've decided I'm not going to think too hard about how the shifter actually works. Because it doesn't make a lot of sense to me when I do. Plus, there's much awesomeness to be had in this episode.

"What would it take to get your daughter to stop tweeting about this?"

Night tiggy!

What's the expertly trained line? That should be the next thread name.

Something about edit"you don't know the Winchesters. They're dangerous, smart, and expertly trained." I'll force myself to watch it again to try and get the line.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Shifters have traditionally been mimics. They either mimic other humans, or they mimic animals. Nowhere in any of the legends does it say they kill what they mimic. Only in this case, when the shifter has evil motives, does it kill what it mimics.

And Bev comes through!

I feel like Ralph Kiner.

There are some side benefits from having studied Native American and Celtic spirituality and legend. I need to work on my African and Norse, though.

one more quick post before bed.

I get that shifters are mimics and whatnot, but after it shifts the final time Sam says that it could be anyone and Dean says something along the lines of all the people being out of the building and he sounded relieved in that it couldn't mimic any of them once they were out of the building. so i guess i just mean, what does the shifter have to do to mimic another person? be in close proximity? touch them? what?

now i'm really leaving. nighty nite!

Yess!

tiggy, it depends on the legend. Morphing into animals (most cultures--including HP, animorphs--have this legend in some form or another) is done at will. Often morphing into a new human form is done at will, too. All that's needed is a clear mental image of the new shape, which could be someone who exists, or just some random person.

SPN's shapeshifter evidently has to be in close proximity, and it prefers to kill its template.
