I think one of the things I'm getting from the comments is that not as many folks as I thought care that b.org isn't just another board.

Nicole, I was seeing it more as a tendency within our community to be overly analytical about not only what is best for oneself but also to try to tease out what is best for most. I think that both no preference and perhaps to a lesser extent unsure are about trying to see what the whole wants or needs.

I agree with Nicole. I put "unsure" for some questions because I couldn't predict ("Do you believe that splitting up the volume with multiple show threads dilutes or enhances the community?") or because it depended on the specific situation ("How would more television based threads affect your enjoyment of the board?"). It had nothing to do with wondering what "the whole" wants.
