Keep in mind that not even a quarter of respondents made any comment at all in that final box.

Bureaucracy 4: Like Job. No, really, just like Job
A thread to discuss naming threads, board policy, new thread suggestions, and anything else that has to do with board administration and maintenance. Guaranteed to include lively debate and polls. Natter discouraged, but not deleted.

Someone in one of the comments asked why some people are attracted to Natter and others to Bitches, or some version of that, I think. My extremely simplistic answer, especially since Bitches no longer fics and has tamed from bondage tape to daycare (NOT a bad thing, just an evolution of its inhabitants) and is no longer the prime porny thread is that Natter is more thinky, Bitches is more feely.
I don't have time to do both, daily--I haven't had time to do either, this past week--and as I feel the need to keep up with folks in whichever thread, I feel compelled to choose. Sometimes it's Natter, sometimes it's Bitches.
Jabs can be true.
Yes, that's what I meant. We are a somewhat closed community, but I don't consider that a bad thing, even if the commenter meant it that way.
To use a real-world parallel, when I'm out having lunch with friends, the table we're sitting at is a closed community. We're out in public and anyone sitting nearby can listen in if they want, but we're still only talking to each other. Random passersby (or dedicated eavesdroppers) can try inserting themselves into the conversation, but we're under no obligation to offer them a chair. I like that about meatspace, and I like it here.
Keep in mind that not even a quarter of respondents made any comment at all in that final box.
I was going to say.

Yep, this is me -- I'm caught up reading in both, but I only have time to post in one or the other. Lately I've been lurky in Bitches and active in Natter, but I swing back and forth pretty regularly.
Hmm. That chart woulda been helpfuller if I'd sorted it. Oh, well. Maybe I'll do that after dinner.
Thank you, Liese.
It's very interesting to me to see that Box Set is #3 in the collective heart.
That coupled with TV Discussionistas and fandom votes gives me a new and useful perspective on Where We Are.
You can see why the Supernatural spinoff vote/discussion was such a flashpoint.
Wow. The poll didn't turn out like I expected. I was especially surprised at the number of lurkers and rare posters.
Thank you so much, msbelle and the poll team! Also, thanks Liese, for the table. I think it's helpful.
The poll results are fascinating. Thanks so much to everyone who worked on it. (And to everyone who took it. Great turnout.)
Haven't digested the results yet, but quite a response. Have we ever had so many people actually vote on a question?
