Why worry about spoiler talk if we don't open a thread that allows spoilers before the book is available? I'd like to talk about what I've heard now.
Exactly why we need to obsess over opening, unless I don't get your meaning.

Why don't you announce in Literary that you'll be talking about HP spoilers in Spoilers?

Hold up! I'm with Jessica on this:
I don't think spoilers should be put anywhere people might already be subscribed to without a vote.
Yeah, I'd think people not wanting to be spoiled for a book might be surprised to find themselves spoiled for one in the TV spoilers thread.
Even if you mark it on the slug or description, etc., people reading via read new won't see it necessary.
We could open a "Buffista Books 2" (or whatever the book club thread title was), name it "Buffista Books 2: Harry Potter Full Spoiler Discussion", and make the first post a strident warning that there will be full spoilers. We could do that now, and then people could discuss spoilers, and when the book is actually on sale, it will be the thread in which to discuss the book. That way literary stays spoiler free, and people know to stay out of book club if they don't want to get spoiled.
Or we could just wait until this weekend and re-open book club...
I think Jessica had the right idea.
I guess if you want to talk about spoilers now, the spoiler thread is as good place as any.
the spoiler thread is as good place as any.
Or as bad, in that it's prime for people who go in for its designated purpose (TV show spoilers) and come out a little too knowledgeable.
if people label the spoilers, I think that thread is people's best bet if they want a discussion.
