I can't decide if it would be inappropriate to repurpose/incorporate ita's thread? Not that Ginger doesn't deserve her own? I don't know.
'Underneath'
Bureaucracy 4: Like Job. No, really, just like Job
A thread to discuss naming threads, board policy, new thread suggestions, and anything else that has to do with board administration and maintenance. Guaranteed to include lively debate and polls. Natter discouraged, but not deleted.
Current Stompy Feet: Jon B, P.M. Marcontell, Liese S., amych, msbelle, shrift, Dana, Laura
Stompy Emerita: ita, DXMachina
Mainly I don't want remembering and mourning Ginger to get tangled up in Natter and either people miss things or feel they can't natter.
I really fucking hate we need a memorial thread for anyone but I think we need something dedicated.
ita was so antibthread proliferation that she'd probably be for combining them but I don't want to be disrespectfully there either.
Right now I feel like we are going to be remembering Ginger in Natter, Bitches, ita's thread, and other threads, as we do. I don't think we need to gather the posts in one place as much as we did for ita. Part of the reason for that thread was to collect memories for her family.
Mostly I just wish we didn't have another painful loss to discuss at all.
Anybody have a handy link to the "likes carrots" explanation?
hmm. I could have sworn it was in the FAQ but ctrl +f give me no carrots.
Probably not the first, but there is a number of posts discussing Bob's love of carrots in the Natter 9 archive. Starting with post #129. Warning!! Natter 9 is filled with feels.

Crackle finishing: You can't refinish just one.
Ooops. Just did that "Bob likes carrots!!" thing, didn't I?
Laga, I did the same thing, and was surprised, because I would have SWORN it was in there.
I'm pretty sure I'm the genesis of that one. It's the phenomenon often seen when someone has a new SO and they can't stop talking about him/her, and use any excuse, no matter how tenuous, to keep talking about him/her. So if someone mentioned they cooked carrots for dinner, the newly smitten person would pipe up with "Bob likes carrots!"
I seem to remember it was bon bon.
