I'd rather not know who is going to be on an upcoming show, and I think it's rational to have an overinclusive rule about guest stars, because it's easier to follow. I also don't understand the problem with using the spoilage lite thread -- it seems like ita in particular just has a problem with the mere idea that it counts as a spoiler. If no one else here thinks it's really a spoiler then fine, change the rule. But given that we already have a mechanism in place for people to find out who is going to be on an upcoming show, seems like a non-problem.

Didn't I say more than that? I think, that as Brenda so succinctly said--finding out Mark Sheppard is on Leverage next week is a very different thing from finding out he's on Psych. One's a spoiler for plot, one's not. To find it unwhitefonted, you have to risk finding out plot details for something that has no plot details, and if it is whitefonted, it becomes a hassle to read on rapidly proliferating mobile devices.
Obviously there are other people who think it's not spoilery. I'm surprised some people do (I really can't work out what you divine from it).
But, hey, that's what the mechanism's for.
Do I have seconds for the following proposition?
It will no longer be considered a spoiler to reveal guest stars in upcoming episodes of a new or existing show as long as the actor is new to the show.
The scope of this proposal does not include revealing any character or plot details about the role. Just the actor's name.
The rationale doesn't need to be in the proposal, I'll cheerily hash that out in Lightbulbs.
I'll second that.
I'll second as well.
Sure.
Fifthed.
Sure.
Vortex, can you spoiler out that recurring actor's information?
If you are talking about Max Martini (scruffy ginger goodness), that's not current season information.
Okay, cool. I thought it had happened since September. No worries, then.

That kinda makes my point, doesn't it?

Yeah, I screwed that up last season, which is probably why I'm a little sensitive on that one :)
