However, if I tell you James Marsters is on GA next month, what do you know? Finding out that an actor's been on a show before is pretty simple.

Since spoiler policy is under discussion, anyone want to chime in with thoughts about how/where to discuss S2 of American Horror Story? It seems a little bit like a special case to me, given what's happening next season, but I also don't want to spoil anyone who doesn't want to know.

It's not random, it's consistent. I think that most people aren't going to take the time to do an imdb search when they find out that Max Martini is going to be on Castle (my spoiler snafu). I just didn't think about it, and I am a spoilerphobe.

A bit of a side point, on an ipad, I use diigo browser to highlight spoiler text here and twop. It works really well (it allows you to highlight text on webpages - specifically for annotating, but clearly I use it for spoiler fonts).

My point is that I don't think it's spoilery information, so it doesn't belong in a spoilery thread. Knowing that next week's Castle will have a guest star is not a spoiler, IMO. An episode title? Way different level of information, in that it *is* information. You go into spoilers lite, and you're also exposed to the information that recurring characters will be returning, dealt with precisely the same level of (not) protection. I don't think that George coming back and Enver appearing on GA are apples and apples. Not at all.

Whether or not you can do that on your smartphone depends on both your software and your hardware.

If no character info is contained or reasonably inferred, I'm with ita. So Mark Sheppard slated for a spot on Leverage = spoiler. Mark Sheppard slated for a spot on Psych = public service announcement.

ITA with ita and Brenda on this. Knowing that JM and Charisma Carpenter were on SPN spoiled nothing because they were totally new characters.
