"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Is it airing in Britain and not here? Then I'd say Unamerican, right?

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Unam.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Right now guest star information is considered spoilery even if there is no character information conveyed in it.

I don't know how this came to be designated a spoiler. Does anyone have background for that? James Marsters showing up on Angel is one thing, but showing up on Torchwood for the first time something entirely different. I don't think it should be whitefont mandatory, and with the upswing in portable devices, it gets more complicated to read spoiler-fonted information.

So I'd like to be sure that what's mandated to be spoiler fonted really is considered sensitive by people, especially in a NAFDA thread.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

Sometimes knowing the guest star conveys the character information, even if it's not a big name. I spoiled by accident once by saying that someone was going to be on a show that I had recently started watching, and it turns out that the guest star had been on the show before and mentioning him let others know that the character would be back.

So, you never know when you're going to spoil, and I think that our philosophy is better safe than spoiled.

Well, if it's an actor playing an established role, then it's obviously got spoiler all over it.

However, if I tell you James Marsters is on GA next month, what do you know? Finding out that an actor's been on a show before is pretty simple.

I don't think that's safe, I think it's random.

I guess, I just frustrated even though I can see people's source posts easier than most.

I don't see why a new actor is at all spoilery, and I don't think it's much to ask for people to make sure it's a new actor before they talk about it.

How else am I going to know that Enver is in the next show he's in, without opening myself up to being actually spoilt for stuff?

Because books.

Since spoiler policy is under discussion, anyone want to chime in with thoughts about how/where to discuss S2 of American Horror Story? It seems a little bit like a special case to me, given what's happening next season, but I also don't want to spoil anyone who doesn't want to know.

Although that's also going to end once they start advertising and teasing for next season.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

How else am I going to know that Enver is in the next show he's in, without opening myself up to being actually spoilt for stuff?

I thought we literally had a thread to deal with this exact situation.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Although that's also going to end once they start advertising and teasing for next season.

Yeah. It seems like one of those things you kind of need to know if you plan to continue watching.

I don't think that's safe, I think it's random.

It's not random, it's consistent. I think that most people aren't going to take the time to do an imdb search when they find out that Max Martini is going to be on Castle (my spoiler snafu). I just didn't think about it, and I am a spoilerphobe.

I thought we literally had a thread to deal with this exact situation.

I thought that ita was suggesting that guest stars shouldn't even be lite spoilers?

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

A bit of a side point, on an ipad, I use diigo browser to highlight spoiler text here and twop. It works really well (it allows you to highlight text on webpages - specifically for annotating, but clearly I use it for spoiler fonts).

Is there something like this for iphones and android devices?

On an iphone, I select the text of a post (or several posts) cut the text, then paste it in a notepad app.
