My first inclination is to say no. At the time, those were valid comments, and were funny in context. But I'm notoriously incapable of holding a grudge, and his name is an unpleasant reminder for folks.

You know, they occasionally pop up when I am Buff Diving and don't bother me.
Stuff popping up currently in media about Fast Eddie pisses me off completely and brings back every single unpleasant sensation from that time.
But the quotes don't.
I won't fight to keep them, but I personally am not bothered by them.

They don't bother me, but part of me wants you to just put the name in quotes: "Gus." I don't know what that makes me feel better (or giggle), but it does.
