Life on Mars seemed reasonable to me because my impression was that time travel (regardless of the mechanism) was pretty central to the show. I think Kings is fuzzier, but I can understand including it because of the AU.

With Cupid, the only fantastic element is that one of the characters has a belief system I don't share. And that'd apply to a lot of shows. What if he belonged to a contemporary religion and believed that he had to do an entertaining act of penance every week?

I'm so tempted to ask the Stompies to temporarily change my handle to Streaker just to say:

"Threads at Will" "One Show, One Thread".
Mind you, I'm not asking for it, just the image of a streaker in a text environment made me laugh. Plus, it's a slow day at the office.

The procedurals? The cable dramas? The premium shows? The reality shows? The comedies? Perhaps more than you like is in there, but we went through a lot of agita to create threads for shows that don't fit. "Almost anything" is quite an overstatement.

Well, my emphasis was more on the "we" in that sentence, meaning, a lot of the types of shows that tend to interest Buffistas before they even start. But that might make sense only in my head.

I am neither "Threads at Will" nor "Everything in Natter", but I've made it clear in the past that Boxed Set didn't really work for me, and, as more and more shows seem to get relegated there, it's become more of an issue. Frankly, I'd rather just have a white-font TV thread and be done with it.

Of the ones you list, the only speciality thread that has really generated enough traffic to merit a thread is Reality. I'm for rethinking them all.

Again, this is all just my opinion.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

my impression was that time travel (regardless of the mechanism) was pretty central to the show

Did you watch it?

What if he belonged to a contemporary religion and believed that he had to do an entertaining act of penance every week?

For me the dividing line is between worshipped and worshippee--but I'm perfectly okay with a show that might be about a Greek god being categorised as fantasy, and I don't see a strong argument against the fantastical potential.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

I hate to stir up some shit, but it seems to me that both of these issues could be solved with a network drama thread. Has it been 6 months?

I agree. I think Cupid is deliberately trying to be ambiguous about its fantastic elements, but that by walking that line it is asking to be discussed within the fantasy genre. The line is part of the field.

I think it's here, Vortex, but I admit that I got tired of looking past that to see whether it had come up for voting again; I don't think it did. Also? Time flies. I would have said that all happened last year.

Is this a formal proposal? Because I'll second it.

Well, yes, I guess it can be, although what does that entail? I'm moving this weekend and haven't yet set up Internet or anything.
