Also, you can tell it's not gonna have a happy ending when the main guy's all bumpy.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Do the threads close automatically at 10,000 now without Stompy intervention? I'd have thought if a live person were closing the thread they'd have created the new one to link to first.

Which made me think of:

Natter 59: Don't Leave Us This Way!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Do the threads close automatically at 10,000 now without Stompy intervention?

Yes.

All is well that ends in pizza.

After the F2f, trying to decide who is a Buffista and who isn't on Flickr is becoming a challenge.

For good or ill, and due to the fact that there are more and more Buffistas getting on Flickr, I have created a public, but invite only, group on Flickr. So, Buffistas can all join, if we please.

[link]

Taking a cue from the board, I have named the moderators "Stompy Foot [name]" and the members "Buffista [name]"

I am perfectly willing to integrate this into the buffistas.org collective, and make any stompy feet over here ones over there. We can also add admins from buffistas.org as well.

My primary goal is to have a way for us to easily ID Buffistas and have sharing to a group on flickr that is blocked from non-vetted people.

Please let me know if I have overstepped my bounds as a member and used our name improperly.

ETA: I intend to post a slightly modified version of this in Press.

Are you planning on doing the inviting, Daniel?

All is well that ends in pizza.

I've invited as many as I have contacts, then I assume others can invite.

Plus you can request of an admin by going to the web page, so that'll be two ways to get in.

All is well that ends in pizza.

DCP asked about public vs private group in an email to me.

I actually made Buffistas as a private group, then I renamed that and made another as a public group.

Private group cannot be searched for.

A public group can be searched for, and can be set to only members seeing posts and sharing photos. Invites and requests to join are approve-only.

You can take a public group private, but you can't make it public again after that.

I figured it would be easier to start public, with restrictions.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

You can take a public group private, but you can't make it public again after that.

Huh - how bizarre!

Because i have had questions: Further information about the Buffista group on Flickr:

from [link]

Our group type:

  • Invite-only public groups are useful for small groups who wish to focus on a particular theme, but want to maintain control over membership.
  • Anyone can view the group page, but the only way to join the group is by invitation.
  • Admins can choose to show or hide discussions and/or group pools from non-members. [Enabled!]

42 members, so far!
