Now I’m a wounded dwarf with the mystical strength of a doily.
There's our quote, I think.
Gaming 1: Now I'm a wounded dwarf with the mystical strength of a doily.
Maybe. Anybody else like it?

I prefer either Roll Initiative or Attack the Gazebo
if I knew what Attack the Gazebo was from I might support it
Gaming 1: Will someone just shoot the Bard
This sounds like an Astérix reference to me.
I think just Gaming 1: Mystical strength of a doily
It's from ancient gaming lore. A GM is giving description of the area and mentions a gazebo on a nearby hillock. His not-so-bright party of adventurers attack it, not understanding what it is and overriding the GM's protests.
Someone can probably link to the story. Victor linked to it once, I seem to recall.
I love my Aims so much.
Love you, too honey.
"Attack the Gazebo" is an apocryphal gaming story in which the DM is describing the grounds of the manor house, and says "You see a gazebo in one corner of the garden."
The players, not knowing what a gazebo is, assume it's a monster and attack it.
Later, D&D would introduce the "glabrezu," figuring that if any newbies attacked one of those, they would get what they deserved.
OK, I made the last part up. But I know at least two people who SWEAR they were there for the "attack the gazebo" night.
I don't wanna go with the Buffy quote because how many more Buffy quotes regarding gaming are we gonna find?
