The people are theonetruebix (the Can't Stop The Serenity charity screening person), ElectricSpaceGirl (portland browncoats), Chris Bridges, lexigeek (California Browncoats) and - I think - dreamlogic. (The pizza delivery person from Whedonesque, for lack of a better phrase). I have access to the domain incase they have technical problems, but otherwise I'm not really involved.
They're good people.
The problem with voting is the time frame. If we want to do it, I don't think we want to wait a week.
Could we consensus on it as a preliminary step, make the changes to the logo (or whatever is possible for the admins), and then have the discussion/voting? If it's voted down, we could revert back to the old logo.
What would be great is if that site became the one true site for all fandom groups. Imagine the power all of fandom could wield. Seriously.
Okay, I'm putting down the pipe now.
I like Dana's idea.
Do we think that the strike is going to be done in a week?
Because, I don't.
I think that is a good compromise, Dana. We could also do a truncated voting period or a straight to vote, with discussion happening during the vote.
The strike will last anywhere from three to nine months.
Could we consensus on it as a preliminary step, make the changes to the logo (or whatever is possible for the admins), and then have the discussion/voting? If it's voted down, we could revert back to the old logo.
Or, could we consense on requesting Buffistas for the sign logo at fans4writers (which would make Cafepress stuff available in addition to the web buttons) and vote before making any changes to this site?
I like aurelia's idea. I would also not be opposed to a bullshit consensus on the whole thing, but I guess that's not a good precedent.
