We're all getting played with, babe. -Weird Barbie

(ND snerking at her dh is almost as cute as KT and ND's apparently v. similar tv viewing habits.)

Heh. Just lucky, I guess. We're just really busy during the school year, so we can't keep up with most shows. We tend to pick a few and then sllllooowwllly catch up with the others as we can. Or buy DVDs the next summer when we have time to watch them. We're both spoilerphobes, too.

Huh. I figured there would be lots of posts today.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

SA, I think your proposal should be for easily definable threads and don't worry about letting a few shows fall through the cracks. If someone needs to discuss a show that doesn't fit into comedy, procedural (I'd be inclined to break that into crime (cop/law) and medical), or another existing thread then they can address that need when it arises. I suspect someone will want to come up with a category that will include FNL.

The new shows I see as Boxed Set are: Moonlight, Pushing Daisies, Sarah Connor Chronicles, Bionic Woman, Chuck, Journeyman and Reaper.

I think I was shouted down on this once before, but with this many new shows I'll broach the subject again. Is Boxed Set becoming so large that we should split off the network stuff?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

No.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Not every show catches on. I'm sure there are tons of sci-fi/fantasy shows on right now that we're not discussing.

I guess my broken record thing is that Boxed Set works perfectly for me. So. Cue broken record.

S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

Right, okay. I took some time to think about it, and given Kat and Jon's concerns and aurelia's suggestions, I'm going to refine my initial proposal to include just the Comedy and Procedurals threads. If someone else has a better idea about other shows rather than my own apparently muddy one, I will support their efforts.

So: I propose the creation of two new bucket threads. A Comedy thread, to include the half-hour sitcoms, and possibly other programs (to be worked out in Lightbulbs; may or may not include TDS/TCR and Ugly Betty); and a Procedurals thread, to include shows that work in the Mystery of the Week format (including but not limited to the L&Os, CSIs, House, Without a Trace, etc).

Spoiler font will be decided on a thread-basis, with the same choices offered last time, ie, no white font, 24 hour white font, or 48/72 white font (subject to any other suggestions made in lightbulbs).

::crosses fingers that this doesn't spark an argument::

I'll second.

SA, the legal/crime ones seem cut and dry - they're pretty much all procedurals, but could could you elaborate on the medical ones? Would GA not be included even though it does have cases of the week? It's too soap-opera-y I think someone mentioned?

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Ya know, I'd be inclined to separate out medical from legal procedurals. I think it'd be a better conversation.
