How can you tell what is going to inspire "media fannish" behavior before the season starts?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Right now it's for "Discussions of sci-fi/fantasy shows we watch." The simplest reason, say, Bionic Woman wouldn't be in there is if we're not watching it.

Otherwise I don't see a case for it.

Even if I had ever understood media fannishness to think it was a bright line description of the thread's content I probably wouldn't try and argue that any sff shows belong anywhere else (except by authorship--PD seems to be BS enough too) because it's not something that can be explained or recorded simply.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

Just caught up. I am not sure I could love ita's post up a ways more. Emphasis MINE.

Also don't see myself discussing Pushing Daisies anywhere other than BS-- no reason to stop other people. Sort of like my cable TV discussion happens outside of that thread, and mostly outside of b.org.

In my head it belongs in BS, and if stuff belongs in a thread I don't want to discuss it in, I don't try and move it. If discussion doesn't pick up organically where it works for me then I just have to get over the board being "broken" for me in that regard.

I do think the word "broken" is overmuch, and would rather describe the cable drama thread as "unsuitable" for me.

I get that some people are not happy discussing shows the way they are now, and that others would like places to discuss shows that either aren't being discussed or aren't being discussed where they can partake in the discussion. I get all that.

What I don't get, is the need to discuss what we want - to see if enough other people want the exact same thing, before we make a proposal - where we then will discuss it some more. If you know what you want, propose it and see if enough of the community agree.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Ginger,

I have a weird devotion to L&O:CI. So just let me know where and when you want to discuss. Never missed an ep.

S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

Okay then. Since time is a growing factor, I'd like to propose the creation of new bucket threads, including Comedy, Procedurals, and Drama We Watch That Isn't Procedurals.

Art Crawl!!!

Do you think that USA will do their thing and air L&O:ci more than once a week?

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Actually, that would go in Cable now, wouldn't it?

I like your "quirky drama" suggestion earlier. I'd prefer that to just "other stuff."
