"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Threads have been voted down before - general TV and politics, at least once each.

I thought neither ever got an actual proposal or vote (proposal maybe being withdrawn). Am I misremembering?

I do believe in killing the messenger, you know why? Because it sends a message. ~ Damon Salvatore

I delurked in 2003, I think, as a Wonderfalls fan. I think P-C and Kristin showed up around when I did.

i'm in good company with all of you! i lurked in the Firefly days, but never had anything to say. Wonderfalls made me register and say something.

bummer about the Network Drama thread.

Yeah, I think I remember that one. It got voted down hardcore back then. Seems sentiments have shifted in the last two years.

Our wings are not tired

I'd be happy to see a proposal for a set of much smaller bucket threads to cover the network drama shows. I voted against it not because I don't want those shows covered, but because I didn't want them in single bucket that large.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Yeah, I was really disappointed about the Fall TV thread. That one hurt my feelings.

Our wings are not tired.

Although I would rarely participate, I'm disappointed too. The comedy people are waiting to propose. Maybe we can come up with a format for show threads that works before the fall shows start up.

My guess is that the network drama failed for fear it was too big a bucket. Maybe a multi part vote for several genres broken up in smaller buckets.

Comedy
Medical drama
Cop drama
Something else

Fall's a comin'

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

My problem with those is that I don't know what I'll be watching come fall. The advantage (to me) of the buckets is that they can ebb and flow with our habits. I worry that smaller grouped buckets could stagnate if a particular genre is underperforming in the fall.

My other issue is that I think while single show or smaller, genre buckets may work better for specific show posting, the more varied threads get a better conversational dynamic going. But I'm willing to be proved wrong.
