Ann, that's a ferret.

I saw the '95 version of Bye Bye Birdie. During the '90s, ABC developed a habit of remaking an old musical each season. Birdie is worth seeing if you happen to run across it -- Vanessa Williams does a bang-up job as Rose -- but it doesn't compare with the original. Now, Bette Midler in ABC's remake of Gypsy....

“Not dead yet!”

Bette was Mama Rose.

I don't know if I'd say Bette was better than Rosalind Russell, but she certainly made it a contest.

“Not dead yet!”

I think it's safe to say she was the closest we're ever going to get in a modern incarnation.

And as much as I loved Rosalind as Mama Rose, her iconic role for me is Auntie Mame.

God, I'm going to have to watch that-- it's been an age.

If I want to become a cloud of bats, does each bat need a separate vaccination?

SEAN!

I just watched the 9 trailer! SQUEEEEEEEEEEE.

Also, I saw that back when it was an animated short! There was no dialogue or plot at that point, but it was definitely the same movie. I liked it back then too.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

*Nothing* from Lord of the Rings made it in?

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I think I'd have dropped the scorpion monster from Howard the Duck in favor of the cave troll from Fellowship of the Ring. That's the first example of a fully CGI humanoid figure I recall interacting believably with live-action figures.

Didn't they have a number of Weta-related revolutions?

Just watched The Illusionist and disliked Eisenheim more than either of The Prestige's protagonists. I think we were supposed to be on his side. Also, too much f/x, although I understand not near as much as I initially thought. I'd like to know how little.
