Zoe: Planet's coming up a mite fast. Wash: That's just cause, I'm going down too quick. Likely crash and kill us all. Mal: Well, that happens, let me know.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Galaxy Quest is such a treat!

Speaking of treats, just saw Death at a Funeral, which was fun-nee. ESPECIALLY ALan Tudyk, who goies over the top, but does it in a hilariously inventive way. Peter Dinklage is great as always.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Kate, regarding your and Zenkitty's irritation, in the book, Una DOES rule initially because Tristran, like you said, has no interest in ruling.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Do you mean a naked way ? Because I read an interview with him in the Boston Globe, and he was talking about the fact that he spent 90% of his time in the movie naked.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

P.-C., thanks, I'm glad to know that wasn't Neil Gaiman's idea. Hmpf.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

For Frankenbuddha, an interview with Jessica Harper about shooting Suspiria.

Jessica Harper is one of my favorite actresses from the 70s and I'd always wondered what happened to her. Then as I started writing this Dan Hicks piece I saw that she'd done the jazzy backup vocal harmonies with Karla DeVito on his comeback album. Turns out she's a very successful children's musician with many CDs and also a children's book author.

She still looks good too.

Jessica back in the 70s

She was in Shock Treatment too

As well as Phantom of the Paradise, Pennies From Heaven, My Favorite Year, Stardust Memories etc.

I love her voice. I never realized that was her in Suspiria. Probably because I've never been able to get through all of Suspiria.

Bless you, Hec. I've always loved her too, though she's occasionally confusable with both Karen Allen (I was SURE that was her in MINORITY REPORT until I saw the credits) and sometimes Debra Winger (I've also heard some folks confuse her with Margo Kidder, but she was alway seriously recognizable as herself to me - probably a result of seeing SISTERS at too young an age).

Interesting trivia note - Sissy Spacek wanted to try out for the role Jessica Harper played in PHANTOM OF THE PARADISE, but she didn't get an audition because they didn't think she could sing. HA!

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

All told, I think Coal Miner's Daughter might have been the wiser choice to debut that particular talent. I suspect she wouldn't have won an Oscar for Phantom of the Paradise.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

No one's seen The Last Legion yet? I'm curious...
