"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

I did not care for Tarsem's "The Cell"

That's definitely a movie that is less than the sum of its parts, but there are some amazing parts there. Also, apart from "Out of Sight" (which I LOVE!), it's basically the only other movie I like J Lo in.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

I *love* "Out of Sight." Man, that movie just hangs together so well and Clooney is the HOTTTT.

The scene in the trunk is every bit the show stopper it's supposed to be, but it's also so low key in it's way at the same time. Just brilliant acting and direction.

Compassionately intolerant

The looks on both their faces when she's in the apartment lobby and he's in the elevator...genius. Another grace note of brilliant acting and direction.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

I also saw QoS and must enthusiastically agree with the observation on Mr. Craig's hotness. Yowza. I agree that the action scenes were shot and cut ineffectively. I spent too mauch time going "Wait--what the-"

Agree about J Lo's likeability in Out of Sight and The Cell.

I think my biggest beef in The Cell is that I wanted more Vince Vaughn, and that is the only time you will ever hear me say that.

I have such adoring memories of Out of Sight, but last time I caught a bit of it on the telly I was surprised at how it was much more violent than I remembered. And cruel violent, not fun violent.

But, still love Clooney and Lopez in it.

And cruel violent, not fun violent.

Although that dude tripping on the stairs and shooting himself in the head was kinda both.

I think it was also shocking to go back and discover that it was Don Cheadle playing one of the nasty gangsters --and I love Don Cheadle! I've only ever seen him play decent, good-hearted, intelligent characters, so imagine my surprise.

Oh, back to Lopez, I really enjoyed An Unfinished Life with Robert Redford and Morgan Freeman (and Damian Lewis in a small role as the bastard ex-boyfriend --I watched it for him and came away liking the whole thing). It was "hey, that's right, she can act, I forgot!"

You should see Devil in a Blue Dress, where he plays a guy who is beyond standup to his friends, but also basically a total sociopath.
