Buffista Movies 6: lies and videotape

A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Downey, though. I remain kinda awed by.

Oh yes.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

We were discussing his batshit craziness last night. Because he is really batshit craxy, just in a charming, photogenic way.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

He's a mad genius, though, because even with the batshit crazy? His characters are consistent. It's like he has this magic wardrobe, and every garment is a different character, and as long as he wears that garment he is that character. Or something.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

I think I'll have to pull out my copy of Heart and Souls to watch tonight. I love him in that film, especially when the different guardian angels take over his body.

I seriously think the batshit crazy helps. Maybe he just doesn't have a good enough grasp on who exactly RDJr. is, or something, and that allows him to do the mad acts of genius (and also contributes to his addiction issues).

(Please note: I am not saying one must be a tortured soul to be a genius artist. I just think it helps in this case.)
