And juliana, I was wrong, Burn After Reading is not playing at my local theater this weekend. Instead, it's the film that shall not be named.

Le sigh.

I do believe in killing the messenger, you know why? Because it sends a message. ~ Damon Salvatore

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

I agree about Tropic Thunder, Brenda. I was totally shocked at how much I actually loved Cruise in this movie. Which...weird as hell to say, ptui, ptui! McConaghey does the mad-eyed bit-between-his-teeth though clueless thing very well. Both of them ride character deep into caricature, yet find a thread of reality to anchor them.

Downey, though. I remain kinda awed by.

I just saw the trailer for Appaloosa online--I think I'll have to take Dad to see it. He's a big John Wayne/Western fan, and I'm a big Viggo and Ed Harris fan, so it's the perfect film for us!

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Oh yes.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

We were discussing his batshit craziness last night. Because he is really batshit craxy, just in a charming, photogenic way.

He's a mad genius, though, because even with the batshit crazy? His characters are consistent. It's like he has this magic wardrobe, and every garment is a different character, and as long as he wears that garment he is that character. Or something.

I think I'll have to pull out my copy of Heart and Souls to watch tonight. I love him in that film, especially when the different guardian angels take over his body.

I seriously think the batshit crazy helps. Maybe he just doesn't have a good enough grasp on who exactly RDJr. is, or something, and that allows him to do the mad acts of genius (and also contributes to his addiction issues).

(Please note: I am not saying one must be a tortured soul to be a genius artist. I just think it helps in this case.)
