Sean, was it you or Hec who was saying a few days back about how Empire of the Sun was one of Williams' most unique soundtracks?
I just picked up a copy and it's funny, listening through it, beginning to end, I can hear the seeds of what would become the Home Alone and Harry Potter themes.
Funny, how in retrospect that stuff just smacks you upside the head.
I hear the Elfman movie themes in early Oingo Boingo.

That was me. Now I'll have to listen to it again.
Just watched Rent. Loved it.
Did we see the One-sheet for Neuromancer?
please, please don't let this suck
Hayden Christensen? The character's name is Cage in the description??? Please tell me someone just made a typo.
My hopes are not high.
Just watched Rent. Loved it.
Were you aware of the interesting timing of this movie choice?
We are Wizards - a documentary about the "WE ARE WIZARDS profiles some of the power players in the underground Harry Potter creative community" opens in November. (They seem to be talking about some sort of "Wizard Rock" thing - rather than, for example, legions of fanfiction writers.)
And News about Sean Biggerstaff's new movie.

I'm thinking give the audience a 5-7 year break before it's revived on Broadway and finds itself back up for Tonys again.
Still, definitely feels like the end of an era.
Gris, I had absolutely no idea. I actually texted somebody when it finished saying "I want to see Rent on broadway." Doh.

If somebody can find a way to update the production that works, I'm in great approval of this. When I saw the current production in January it felt WAY dated. A revival needs to
know
that Rent's a period piece now, and it could be great.
I'd be okay with a 10 year break, though.
