Speaking of Hot Fuzz, I'm a recent convert to the Brit-com Spaced. That's the latest thing I've seen that's made me really laugh.
I am looking forward to seeing the new Coen brothers film (Burn This After Reading is the title, right?), because it looks like goofy fun with lots of big names.
Burn This After Reading
Filmed in my neighborhood! (As a stand-in for Georgetown).
Then the original Bad News Bears.
The original Bad News Bears completely rocks. I'm so glad to see Jackie Earle Haley back in the acting game.
Men With Brooms is classic. And has nekkid Paul Gross.

I love Breaking Away too, speaking of sports movies. That's where I got my Barbara Barrie crush. Also, having just recently rewatched Bad News Bears and Paper Moon, I am reminded what an incredibly great child actor Tatum O'Neal was.

Oh, I just recently caught that for the first time in forever on one of the movie channels. What a wonderful little film. And wasn't that Paul Dooley who played Dennis Christopher's dad?
Ooh,
Slap Shot.
Love that movie. And
Breaking Away
is one of my all time favorite films ever. Such a smart, subtle script.
Most sports movies leave me cold, but I do have a soft spot for the original Bad News Bears. The tv show of Friday Night Lights really works for me, though. Maybe having the longer format of a tv season with the game scenes edited for merciful brevity is what works on me.
Also, Bad News Bears = best use of Bizet in a movie

Emmett's godmother went to Indiana University, and when I visited here there I got to see the annual bike race.
Paul Dooley trivia: he's married to Winnie Holzman, lead writer from My So Called Life.
