P-C did the Joker really say who was at what location? I seriously remember that he just gave two addresses that were too far apart for Batman (who had the speedier transport than the police) to get to more than one.

Franken,
yes. The Joker told Batman the addresses and where each person was. Batman had to choose. The Joker wanted to make sure that Batman had to agonize over the choice.
The Joker did say who was at which location, but switched them. (That's why Batman thought he was going after Rachel.)
Another thing that was confusing about that was that we didn't see Bats register any surprise that he'd come for Harvey Dent. I mean, I suppose the surprise was outweighed by the fact that the bomb was about to go off, but we didn't see his reaction at all, which made me think he'd somehow changed his mind and gone after Harvey intentionally.
That didn't bother me because I figured that he had to move too quickly to show any surprise - and he had to know that Gordon was going after Rachel.
OK, I'll have to double-check that when I see that in Imax (time to be determined, but it will happen, oh yes, it will). As I said - going on two in the morning, blah blah blah.
I'm with P-C - that's why I thought
Batman went after Dent intentionally.
I'm almost positive that Gordon asks which one Batman's going after, and he says "Rachel!" as he's speeding off.
Batman doesn't have time to show emotion, much less surprise or confusion. He's too busy kicking ass.
Strega, I know. Which is why the whole thing had me confused as to the Joker's intentions. When Bats ended up at Harvey and didn't express any surprise about this fact, I thought he'd changed his mind without telling us.
