The few reviews I've read have done NOTHING to reduce my expectations for TDK.
Yeah, they've actually made me even more excited. I mean, I love that we essentially know nothing about the actual plot, and the fact that a lot of the reviews are calling it a "great crime drama" rather than a great comic book movie makes it sound even more awesome.
This is going to be one of those things where people go "Why did he have to go and die, dammit!" isn't it.
More than it already is, you mean?
I think I'm going to a midnight IMAX showing of TDK - I'm very excited. . . and kind of not believing it yet.
I couldn't get IMAX tickets. Even here in LA, there's only a couple of IMAX screens I would have time to reach by midnight that night.
Got tickets to the Arclight, though.
man, I'm amped. thanks for the discussion. tix were running out in my college town, so I just bought them online.
I am so stoked at being able to see this movie...
IMAX says that they will have an HP teaser with The Dark Knight.
I just realized why Heath Ledger's Joker seemed so familiar in one of his Dark Knight trailers. The tilt of his chin and the way he licks his lips reminds me of my deceased grandmother. All he needs is a pair of Mr. Magoo glasses and blue hair instead of green.
OMG the new EW cover of the Twilight movie!
HAHAHAHAHAHAHahahahah ohhhh man. *wipes eyes* No, seriously. I just got home, picked up my cover of the mag from my mailbox and laughed for about 15 minutes non-stop.
The Fug girls are already on it: [link]
ETA: Also, ITA on what she said about
Dark Victory.
The "little ole Judy needs not know she's dying, oh no!" thing drives me absolutely bonkers. Even though I do have a bit of soft spot for the movie. Humphrey Bogart as the smitten Irish stable boy! (Most hilariously wrong casting ever?) All the doctors smoking in the patients' rooms! The blind gardening! Ahhh, 40's melodrama.

Close call between that and his workaholic-millionaire-turned-romantic-woobie in Sabrina.
ETA granted, he started his stage career playing "Tennis, anyone?" types in comedies, which boggles my mind, but apparently is true to his actual roots.
