Even though I don't speak Spanish, we speak the language of monsters.
'Underneath'
A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

A friend of mine once cracked up most of a theater by yelling "Snake Plissken? I thought you were dead!" when the preview for Escape from LA started playing on the screen.
Though of course the only proper reply is John Wayne's from "Big Jake": I'm going to kill the next person who says that.
An interesting article on filming the stunts of Dark Knight in Chicago.
I love Midnight Run dearly; Hec has never seen it (so far, the only occasion in our entire relationship history when I've gotten to be the one who screeches, "WHAT? How could you never have seen that? How is that possible? I don't know if I can be with you!").
I saw it again during the recent TNT or whatever it was run, but it was of course redubbed because of all the bad words, so I didn't insist that Hec sit down and watch it with me because I didn't want his initial viewing experience tainted with abominations like (whitefonted just 'cause) "I got two words for you. Shut the [...hell] up."
Clearly it needs to go on the Netflix queue.
Dennis Farina is classic in Midnight Run.
"You two morons better start getting more personally involved with your work or, I swear to God, I will blowtorch the both of ya."
"Make yourself a sandwich, drink a glass of milk, do some fuckin' thing." Love him in that movie, so much.
eta the perfectly correct quote, because the rhythm of it is just so delicious.
"Sydney, I swear to God if you don't shut the fuck up, I'm gonna stab you troo da heart with dis fuckin' pencil."
And Yaphet Kotto!
The only, single thing I could possibly ask of that movie is that it have more female characters in it than just the ex-wife and the sad daughter. But that complaint is one I could lodge against, well, depressingly close to every product of Hollywood in my lifetime. But on its own terms, aside from any meta complaints? Damn near perfect.
And Yaphet Kotto!
Stealing Marvin's cigarettes and lighters!
Okay, did *anybody* know there were three TV movie sequels to Midnight Run? Starring Christopher MacDonald as Jack Walsh.
