They're betting the farm on Space Cowboys? It's hardly a proven genre, and not for lack of trying.
Buffista Movies 6: lies and videotape
A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.
Saw Four Brothers last night. I swear Marky Mark can act, but that wasn't it either. It was interesting, plotwise, to see how they were going to deal with the protagonists being so consumately illegal from move 1. Hmmph. Chiwetel Ejiofor gives a great performance, where he's American down to the way he shifts his weight. I continue to be impressed by him.
Did you ever see Redbelt?
The "tentpole" comment comes from the Hollywood Reporter, so it's not exactly set in stone.
Did you ever see Redbelt?
No! I totally have to. Talk about weight shifting.
Well shit, according to AICN, Stan Winston has died. No news on the cause.
I was just coming here to post that, Pete. It was cancer.
Reports are saying he'd had Multiple Myeloma for some years. Sad news.
Ouch. Sad news.
Or Quasimodo as singing and dancing.
... I love the Disney version of The Hunchback of Notre Dame. No, it's nothing like the original story. Don't care. Still awesome. It has a nice combination of The Emperor's New Groove style pure punny humor ("Achilles! Heel!"), pretty decent music (the opening number is gorgeous, and I have a weakness for "Hellfire," if nothing else because it's the scariest villain song in Disney) and compelling characters, true to their originals or not.
(And it's a bit more like the original story than, say, The Little Mermaid at least)
