Reports are saying he'd had Multiple Myeloma for some years. Sad news.

Buffista Movies 6: lies and videotape
A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.
Ouch. Sad news.
Or Quasimodo as singing and dancing.
... I love the Disney version of The Hunchback of Notre Dame. No, it's nothing like the original story. Don't care. Still awesome. It has a nice combination of The Emperor's New Groove style pure punny humor ("Achilles! Heel!"), pretty decent music (the opening number is gorgeous, and I have a weakness for "Hellfire," if nothing else because it's the scariest villain song in Disney) and compelling characters, true to their originals or not.
(And it's a bit more like the original story than, say, The Little Mermaid at least)

I recall liking that song a lot too. Similarly, I really like "Savages" from Pocahontas, if nothing else.
Apparently Roger Ebert liked it too, for what that's worth.
It's actually a little scary how often I completely agree with Ebert.
I registered a domain and will be putting up a site called kidsfilmcritic.com. As soon as I get around to it. Those udders will be getting a bashing.

Ebert has always been my film critic of choice, and not just because he's my home town boy. I find that even if I disagree with him, he descirbes his viewing experience in such a way that I know if I'll like a movie he did not.
Go Cash!

Exactly.
Cash, that sounds great. There need to be more children's film review sites that do more than count cuss words or anything else the wee ones need to be sheltered from.
IGN asked James McAvoy about the Hobbit and he doesn't say that he wouldn't do it - but, of course, he hasn't been offered the part AND they don't even have a script yet.
JK Rowling has written a new HP story that is going be made into a mini-movie that will be part of the Harry Potter theme park in Florida.
