Young Guns remind me of Young Riders, which I loved! I would be ascared to rewatch that!

Buffista Movies 6: lies and videotape
A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.
Dude Where's My Car? was an unexpected and fun surprise.
I caught Legend of Billie Jean Davies last week, another childhood fave, and now I hate it. Fair is fair? WTF kinda message is that? Although, now I get why they had the young Christian Slater get shot, because that's only fair, right? Totally stupid movie to me now. Pat Benetar still rocks, though.
River's Edge
I must have watch that movie a bazillion times in high school. I crushed on creepy Crispin Glover even!
Keanu had one of the best mini-monologues ever in Parenthood.
But Keanu Reeves' horrible accent wasn't nearly as fun as Kate Beckinsale's
The worst part is, Coppola and Winona both wanted Johnny Depp for Harker, and the studio nixed him (not a big enough star). SO TRAGIC!
I have a ridiculous weakness for Keanu, and have had for years. He's so very pretty.
Amy is me. and the nice-guy reports don't hurt either.
The nice guy reports don't entirely make up for the intermittent disappearance of his acting talent, but I always wish for him to do well even if it's people other than me attending his movies.
He definitely has a limited range. But if he stays within it, he can be really convincing.
And I mentioned the pretty, right?
It's good to hear he's a nice guy. I like that.
Plus, he was genuinely good in River's Edge. Like, no monotone!
True thing. Also the aforementioned Parenthood.
Point Break! (big influence on Hot Shots)
One thing that Keanu does very well on screen is move. This is often an underrated part of acting, but it's something he has in common with actors like Cary Grant (ex-acrobat) and Burt Lancaster (ditto).
Oh yeah, and I watched the Lake House on cable and he was good in that. Much better movie than expected.

It was pleasantly surprising. Not that it needed to be, since my Keanu-love knows no bounds.

Very much so. And screen physicality is completely different from stage physicality. But yeah, Keanu really knows how to move for the camera.
