I get confused. I remember everything. I remember too much, and... some of it's made up, and... some of it can't be quantified, and... there's secrets.

Buffista Movies 6: lies and videotape

A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

(I liked Oscar. Well, most of it.)

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

(Me too, Kathy)

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Why am I suddenly tempted to blurt out Tango and Cash or Oscar ?

Thing the first: Tango and Cash RULZ!!!!!!!11! It's the OPPOSITE of Queen of the Damned (movie version). Seriously YAYRIFFIC.

(At the end, Kurt doesn't exactly get the girl! He asks Sly if he can date her! Sly says over his dead body! THEY CLASP HANDS!)

(Ahem. Dude, I love that movie SO MUCH.)

Thing the second: Oscar is hilarious.

Man.

Umm.

I was OUT about my affection for a certain period of Stallone's work, right? I mean, it's not like I'm talking Stop Or My Mom Will Shoot.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

I was OUT about my affection for a certain period of Stallone's work, right? I mean, it's not like I'm talking Stop Or My Mom Will Shoot.

What taste could you conceivably still have in the closet? After the Kissinger thing, a reader could reasonably assume anyone was fair game.

The Kissinger thing is really more of a sick fascination.

The Stallone era I'm talking about? Totally unironic appreciation of something or other.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Love Hudson Hawk and The Long Kiss Goodnight.

I love both those movies too. Pete, strangely, doesn't like Hudson Hawk. Of course, he hasn't seen it in something like 13 years, so maybe his opinion will have changed.

I'm so tempted to point him at this discussion just to watch him explode in-thread about the WRONGNESS that is the Judge Dredd movie. (Which I've never seen, so I have no opinion on it. But Pete is a frothing 2000AD/Judge Dredd fanboy, and hates the movie with every fiber of his being.)

Oh yeah, that's why. I think this is MD#37 for us, isn't it?

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Every few years or so, I try to like Hudson Hawk, but fail.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Cleolinda just posted fantastic review of Twilight.

She quotes the bit about sparkly vampires. It's for real.
