Now I did a job. I got nothing but trouble since I did it, not to mention more than a few unkind words as regard to my character so let me make this abundantly clear. I do the job. And then I get paid.

Buffista Movies 6: lies and videotape

A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

move out and draw fire

Why am I not surprised that Ken Russell directed Tommy ? I never card to find out who had, as it upset me so much (I think I was 10, and it was my first run-in with powerful negative cinema), but I swear. Anything Russell does just digs its fingers into into my alligator brain and clenches.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

Sweeney Todd looks great, but the commercial is so low-budget seeming. The announcer is too loud and cheesy sounding, which makes the thing come off like a local ad. GF and I were kinda shocked.

"Mister Spock is on his fanny, sir. Reports heavy damage."

I... blame you all for the fact that, in my head, the line in the commercial runs "the whole wide world is a Sarlacc Pit..."

I fear my brain.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

In the total OPPOSITE of negative cinema, I saw Enchanted yesterday. LOVED IT. Amy Adams is wonderful and the film has such affectionate snarky fun with all the Disney cliches that it's great for kids and adults. I am not a GA fan, but found Patrick Dempsey totally rrowr.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Heh. Laga, that Avatar has no connection to Avatar: The Last Airbender. Not that it doesn't look cool.
