Buffista Movies 6: lies and videotape
A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

"Crispin Glover" and Anthony Hopkins at the Beowulf premiere
Wow, I'm suddenly filled with a heretofore unfelt admiration for Glover's writing.
this nine-minute, experimental film, which was written, directed, and produced by Jim Henson-and starred Jim Henson!
Henson's experimental films are great! A year or two ago they showed a bunch of them at the Brattle in Cambridge.
Bit of behind the scenes with HP and the HBP.
Okay, this link actually has both featurettes that WB released.
For monologues, look for some of Eric Bogosian or John Leguizamo's taped one-man stuf. I used it with my 8th grade acting students and they LOVED it.

Oh, or Philip Baker Hall's great one-man Nixon in SECRET HONOR (Bogosian's final speech in TALK RADIO is pretty great too).
Spaulding Gray had some great monologues, though I'm now blanking as to their kid-appropriateness.
For totally middle and high school friendly monologue, you could look at Jenna Elfman's brief cameo in Can't Hardly Wait -- sadly, it's not on YouTube, but it's a near-perfect 2-minute comic-wistful piece that establishes character, tells a story and needs no context, and CHW is the kind of movie that's probably sitting sadly on the shelf or languishing in the discount bin at your local video place right this minute.
John Cusack's "I don't want to buy anything, sell anything, or process anything" speech in Say Anything? That's probably not long enough to be a monologue. But I'll take any opportunity to bring up Lloyd Dobler.
