And the thing is, I like my evil like I like my men: evil. You know, straight up, black hat, tied to the train tracks, soon my electro-ray will destroy metropolis BAD.

Buffista Movies 6: lies and videotape

A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

Just finished Snow Cake (and missed Supernatural, oops) and I really enjoyed it. The dancing fantasy during the wake was a little cheesetastic, and Carrie-Anne Moss was the weak link in the acting department, but otherwise a really lovely movie.

My only complaint would be NOT ENOUGH CKR!

ahem.

Besides of course wanting to see more of him on my screen, I thought there was potential for more exploration and coming to grips with his character (I understand it wasn't about him, and maybe it's the CKR-love that made me want to know more, but the fact remains that I did want to have seen more exploration into his coming to grips as well as everyone else coming to grips with what he did).

But otherwise, what little there was of him, he looked damned fine.

"I am the all-singing, all-dancing crap of the world"

I have a very good friend from Sackville -- I'll have to send this to her.

Just as long as she's not those damn Sackville Baggins...

Shit's all sorts of different now.

#2: NEWSIES. Oh, you knew this was coming. The wonderful irony of Disney making a children’s fable about the power of workers’ unions was lost on me when I first saw it (it was not lost on the L.A Weekly). The politics of this film are clear, intelligent and uplifting. And the songs are catchy. And Batman’s in it. (And hearing my children walking around the house singing “No one can make us give our rights away” makes all of this a lot easier.) Is it dorky? YOU’RE dorky! Dork.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!! I love that Josh guy.

No, he is only 6 years younger than she is.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Winona Ryder cast as Spock's mom.

That is just wrong.

Oh, dear.

(Today's bit of random Trek trivia -- Kirk's mother was named Winona.)
