And I wonder, what possible catastrophe came crashing down from heaven and brought this dashing stranger to tears?

Buffista Movies 6: lies and videotape

A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

That's because it's an acronym of Russian. It's less silly if you think of it as Death To Spies. [link]

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

Oh yeah, it doesn't sound silly in Russian. It's more like, "Schmairsch" And now Sean Connery is saying it in my head and I think I need to bump some Bond flicks to the top of my Netflix queue.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Guess that's the new thing I learned today.

We should totally have a thread like that. Imagine the even more powerful trivia powerhouse we'd be if we pooled the new information.

It's less silly if you think of it as Death To Spies.

Dunno. Still sounds silly to me, but I wouldn't have told any of them that to their face.

Art Crawl!!!

Speaking of spies, here is the trailer for the movie Wanted.

Was this one of the movies that was filming in Chicago this summer at the same time as the new Batman movie?

move out and draw fire

We should totally have a thread like that.

I agree - right under COMM. That would ROCK.

I couldn't find an already-assembled list, so random TV Trivia is good.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

Just watched Planet Terror as well as listening to the commentary by Robert Rodriguez, which was one of the better movie commentaries I've listened to, amazingly. I like the guy.

Amazingly great and fun movie! The ick was for the most part silly enough to not be completely off-putting, although the bit with the doctor trying to open the door with her paralyzed hands was the most bloodless and yet hide-behind-my-hands scene.

Adored Jeff Fahey and Michael Biehn (!!!) and of course Freddy Rodriguez and Rose McGowan were awesome.

Seeing Josh Brolin though kills my Goonies nostalgia, though.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

Okay - so who's seen Darjeeling Limited? Thoughts? Points? Dissertations?

I... was glad I didn't pay for it. I may have a problem with Mr. Anderson's movies.

TCG and I saw it last weekend. He really liked it, and I really liked parts of it. It was extremely quirky. I enjoyed the part at the beginning with Natalie Portman the best.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Young Riders. When he and Steven Baldwin were hot. And not buckets o' crazy.
