From my momma who I hadn't even hyped the movie to (yet)
Just got home from seeing "Lars and the Doll." Amazing film..........well worth the $7.50.
edit: I told Mom it was written by a friend of a Buffista and she replied that I
have
to go see it so we can talk about it because she has so much to say about it and that it was awesome in so many ways.
re-edit: Oh in case anyone hasn't caught on yet, the movie is actually called
Lars and the Real Girl.
Constantine is going to be on in half an hour. I'm prepared for that fact that it totally pisses on everything the comic book stands for. On its own merits, ignoring its source, is it a good movie? I'm thinking of using it as my movie to watch while working out.
Keanu Reeves is still in it, Gar. I made it 20 minutes. YRachelWeiszMV.
Besides the fact that it has the same end as another more (deliberately) silly movie that I won't name lest I spoil the end, it's a semi-guilty pleasure for me. Never read the comics. It's kinda bad, kinda fun, maybe a little dragging in parts from what I remember, Tilda Swinton is *cough* divine.
Ah, I forgot the Keanu. Oh well, I'll start with it, channel surf when I can't stand it anymore. That should get me through 45 minutes.
Gah yeah I had very fond memories of amovie I used to watch a lot when I was younger,
The Prince of Pennsylvania.
I even told people that Keanu was not that bad in it when I ordered the DVD from Amazon. Ugh was I wrong.

Yeah I had the same kind of discussion yesterday about an early 90's movie. And I remembered it being "not that bad" and "pretty funny". Upon further thought and discussion I realized I haven't seen it since the mid 90's. From there things added up and I realized that if I seriously watched it now it might pass as endurable.
endurable.
Yeah. Oddly enough some of the least tolerable parts were the wooden deliveries of what used to be my favorite quotes from the film.
I like Constantine and own the video which I got for all of 4.95.

My SIL msg'd me tonight and said my brother finally watched it tonight and thinks I'll like it. I usually trust his judgment enough to give something a try (firefly comes to mind...) I may get it from Netflix.
